Discography

One of the more frustrating aspects of being a fan of KRAFTWERK is their output in musical creativity. Their lack of it to be more precise. Up until now there has only been 11 official LP releases (12 if you include the pre-KRAFTWERK Organisation LP). The details below are of the LP's that have been released to date. Keep an eye out for them and give them a try if you've not come across them before. The Man Machine from 1978 is a good place to start or The Mix from 1991 if you want a more updated sound.

Of course these LP have been released in various formats in countries all over the world. Numerous singles have also been released. I am not going to list these here as that has already been performed in a very comprehensive way at the International Kraftwerk Discography Site.

	TONE FLOAT (1969) Not exactly a Kraftwerk release. The group Organisation had as members Ralf and Florian who went on to form Kraftwerk. Somewhat experimental in sound. This LP has long been deleted. Original copies are now very sought after and also command high prices when copies are found. 	KRAFTWERK 1 (1970) This LP was released in this format in Germany. It was released in the UK a couple of years later as a double LP set along with Kraftwerk 2. 	RALF AND FLORIAN (1973) The link between the older works and what would be the 'real' Kraftwerk of later LP's. This is a much more 'structured LP, containing more structured rhythms and melodies. 	TRANS EUROPE EXPRESS (1977) A LP that was to be the turning point in music history several years later when Africa Bambata took the title track and transformed it in Planet Rock. 	THE MAN MACHINE (1978) If you to get only one Kraftwerk LP this could be the one to obtained. Kraftwerk were often branded 'ahead of their time', this is particularly true of this LP, The track The Model was to become number one in the UK in 1981. 	ELECTRIC CAFE (1986) A longer gap now, 5 years, and the release of Electric Cafe. An LP of the name Techno Pop was to contain the tracks which appear on this LP 3 years earlier, if it had been I think it would have had much more impact than it did.
